BOLLE FALLS
Trek during monsoon is really thrilling. Streams overflowing, rivers touching danger limits are a few common sights. To catch up any waterfall at this season is really challenging and also very risky.
To take up the task of visiting , myself (A.V.SRINATH) and H.K.HEMANTH KUMAR started one Friday night to Belthangadi. Having a comfortable journey we reached there at 5.45am. The weather was very cold, cloudy & ground wet. The silence of the night was disturbed by the sound of the water drops dripping down. We waited for the day to start.

We packed food, baggage and boarded a bus to Killur. Killur is a small village about 20kms northeast of Belthangadi. The drive to Killur was very chill. The clouds passing by frequently interrupted view of the moist Narasimhagad rock. The sun tried in vain to disperse clouds and throw light on the Kudremukh peak.

After getting down at Killur, we were guided by the local people to a mud road, which lead to a hamlet Bolle that is around 8kms from Killur. Passing through few estates, habitation lessened and thick forest invited us. The streams were full. Water was turbulent enough to break the silence of the forest while the leeches were quick enough to enter our body. The path was very moist & slippery. Our body balancing technique was challenged by the two river crossings wherein we had to walk on a log with a one-hand support. With our legs shivering, we safely crossed the river. At last, we reached the village. Bolle is a small village with a very few number of houses. The people were surprised to see us. Talking to the people there, we rested for some time and again preceded our journey.

After a tough walk making our own way we reached the waterfall. It was not visible till we reached the foot. The view of the Bolle falls was spectacular. Seeing the enchanting beauty of the waterfall our minds were elated.
Roaming across our reach we clicked different views of the waterfall. Tired of the day’s work we had to break for lunch. We were unable to find any dry place. Sharing the joyous moments we had a great meal & we relaxed for some time. The unpolluted falls was frequently covered by mist. Our clock forcefully pushed us to pack up and start, as we had to return a long way. Commenting on the day’s trip we walked back. It was around 4.30pm we reached Killur.Very tired of the day’s trek we travelled back to belthangadi & halted that day.Our next day visit was to Anadka Falls.
